About Rabbi Gabay
Healthy Jewish Marriages was founded and is currently run by Rabbi Meyer Yisrael Gabay, Torah scholar, NLP practitioner and certified marriage coach. After working with countless numbers of couples in crises, Rabbi Gabay was determined to trace back their marriage difficulties in search of the critical point where the marriage started it’s deterioration. He believed that to expose the roots to these marriage problems, and to search for the wisdom in our heritage that advised us in the way to act about them, will shed light for all others to stay clear from those dangers. He founded Healthy Jewish Marriages with the intention to prevent and address the source of these conflicts before they develop into much deeper and more complex issues.
R. Meyer Gabay has been lecturing on Marriage health for over 10 years.
He founded the HJM, an organization for spreading these lectures to the Jewish community, world wide.
R. Gabay has lectured in English, to married couples, to men, and to women of all ages and at all stages of their marriage. He has lectured young men before entering marriage to steer them clear from mistakes, & build their marriage properly from the start.
He has received enthusiastic acclaim for his popular series of lectures for Married men (“Living Better in your own home” 10 lectures) & popular series of lectures for Married women (“Making good marriages even better” 10 lectures).
Rabbi Gabay spent close to two years serving the community of Panama City (under the auspices of Rabbi Sion Levy) where he had the opportunity to counsel many couples as well as develop his marriage lecture series for both men and women. Upon returning to Israel, he continued his work lecturing through out Israel, and especially in the area of premarriage counseling, to grooms (Hadrachat Chatanim), from the US, Canada, Panama, and Israel.
Rabbi Gabay earned his Rabbinical Ordination from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and from HaRav Hagaon R. Mordechai Eliyhahu zt”l. He earned his marriage counseling certification from HaRav Simcha Cohen, and is also a certified NLP life coach.
Rabbi Gabay teaches gemara in Machon Shlomo, (The Heiden Torah Institute) Jerusalem, and is a part of the world wide Dirshu project, teaching the Halacha Yomi. He also answers questions on the Sephardic Halacha International Hotline.
In addition to his extensive teaching credentials, Rabbi Gabay is a certified Sofer (scribe) and artist. He is a double gold medalist of the North American Maccabi Youth Games.
He currently lives in Jerusalem with his wife Ilanit, and five children.
